We're excited to announce that Portland rock virtuoso Aaron Meyer will be joining the Columbia Gorge Sinfonietta for the first concert of the 2012-13 season for one performance only, October 27. Mr. Meyer will be performing music arranged for his recent appearance with the Oregon Symphony. It should be a very special evening of music!
For our winter concerts, the Sinfonietta will be presenting Beethoven's immortal "Eroica" symphony and the world premiere of a new trombone concerto, written for orchestra member Hugh Amick.
Our spring concerts will feature the first ever performance by a "supergroup" made up of the Mid-Columbia's most popular jazz, pop and folk musicians, playing original arrangements with the orchestra. Amazing!
Watch this space for more information about upcoming performances by our Voci Choral Ensemble, Youth Choir, and the Gorge Strings. If you would like more information about any of activities or performances, or would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the CGOA, please contact Board President Julie Raefield-Gobbo, or Musical Director/Conductor Mark Steighner.
